Sankranthi rangoli without dots simple

Image
 1) Colourful without chukki flower rangoli design 2) Simple flower kolam without chukki 3) Free hand rangoli small and simple for Sankranti 4) Without chukki small rangoli design image 5) Small circular rangoli sans dots  The first kolam is floral design with with pink and blue flowers decorated with a white and green border.  This floral motif is regularly used in rangolis.    If you observe closely, the design formed is  flowers inside a flower.   A very different free hand kolam.   The second rangoli - I have drawn only 6 flowers around the 8 petal flower at the centre. because drawing eight flowers radially, one for each petal may make the design congested and cramped or may result very small flowers on the periphery.  I am only thinking aloud,  hope you understood. No place for veins of the leaves :) The third rangoli one more design with just petals , using different colours because it is for the muggulu season i.e Dhanrumasa  The fourth rangoli - we draw  and colour as seen in

Sankranti Chukki rangoli big beautiful

Image
The  kolam above is  with dots  pattern 19 by 9 dots, then  11 by 1 on either side and  9 to 4 on  either side. The method to draw this through some photos of intermediate steps are given below.  With these images it should be easy to get an idea as to how to draw this  Chukki rangoli big size for Dhanurmasa and Sankranthi - step by step images These two images show how to proceed with the rangoli .  The distance among the dots in the grid decides the size of the kolam.  I usually use a closely packed dot grid .  Consequently I can draw this even if there is very less space available.  When we draw a common rangoli in the street or if there is lot of space near the entrance we can increase the distance among the dots to get a bigger version of the same kolam. This can belong to an awesome rangoli designs with dots collection.  When you draw it you can experience.  I have filled the background also with rangoli powder.  Actually it is a mixture of colour rangoli powder that I preserve w

Simple New year rangoli kolam designs

Image
The kolam below can be considered to be a floral design with many layers of petals of various shapes.  Again add colourful lines parallel to the white design to get this simple but beautiful rangoli. A white version of this rangoli has been uploaded  in colouring page - rangoli. Comparing both will give us an idea how colours can influence the attractiveness of a rangoli design. A kolam without dots inspired by jewellery ( ear ring or thodu in Tamil  !) Try also for simple Sankranti rangoli The rangoli below  (with blue and brown petals) is another of the many floral designs I have tried in Rangoli-sans-dots The flower at the centre has been surrounded by one more flower.   The edges of the petals of the outer flower and in between them some simple patterns have been drawn.  Then colourful lines are drawn inside the rangoli to get the image as seen below.   In both designs the gaps can be filled with colour rangoli powder.   It will be more suited to the design above.  The floral patt

Kundala muggulu chukkalu for Sankranthi

Image
We all want to display our rangoli skills particularly during festivals like Sankranti and Dipavali.  Of course many of us prefer easy and simple designs.  Here is one of them  First step for the kundala muggulu with dots - 7*7 dots rangoli  Next step for this kundala muggu chukkalu type One of the many ideas for Pongal kundala muggulu  With a 7 by 7 dot grid we can get a Pongal kolam or Sankranti muggulu with dots with a Sankranthi Pot , two sugar cane and the Sun.  All these three symbols represent the harvest festival Pongal.  The sugar cane has been represented in purple , the  kunda is overflowing with sweet Pongal and of  course Sun  whom we worship for this festival all have been shown in a small and compact design.  This festival is also celebrated as Makara Sankranti  Karnataka and Maharastra and other parts of India.  My mother called it the Pedha Pundaga  or big festival in Telugu.

How to draw chukki rangoli designs with colours  I hope you agree tht it is beautiful .  A complete flower with petals sepals and stamen !.  Six such flowers to get an awesome kolam..    For those who are visiting this website for the first time  I get my rangoli colours from a place called Koradi ( there is is famous Goddess Lakshmi temple ) near Nagpur.  One of my elder sisters lives in Nagpur .  She sends all colours by courier.  One consignment lasts for a year even for me because I use a lot for demonstration through videos on social media. One intermediate step showing the sepals of the six flowers being drawn Hibiscus is  one of my most favourite flowers after rose and lotus for creating simple rangoli designs.  This 7 to 4 kolam can be drawn for daily purpose or if you are looking for a small rangoli for festivals like Sankranti or Ugadi you can try it also.  An important rangoli tip - try to draw most or all lines at a single stretch. It will make the design more attractive wh

White rangoli designs for Diwali decor

Image
First a white rangoli design for competition Instead of the easiest ,  I start with a difficult type - the double stroke rangoli in which the 2 lines are drawn simultaneously.  It is not easy to master .  Once we are comfortable with this technique , we will love to draw lots of designs .  It is easy to colour because we have to add only lines the gaps between the parallel lines .  Next white rangoli kolam designs through few pics  The next kolam in the pic above is a 9 to 5 dot design.  Again I have shared only white rangolis so that ideas are shown for Diwali festival decoration.  Colours can be chosen according to availability and our wish .  Bright colours are preferred for Deepavali .  Remember to fill the background also. The next two are free hand rangolis ( white colour muggulu ) from my collection.  Of course ,  I have shared the colourful one  elsewhere on Rangoli sans dots. Now,  this is quite a simple one , the kolam in the pic below.  I think it can be drawn in a jiffy. Th

Beautiful rose rangoli Diwali decoration

How to draw a rose kolam with dots ( 15 to 8  chukki rangoli  )                                       Start at the centre.  The image above shows how to proceed.  You will observe from the images that I do not draw the pattern with a piece of chalk before drawing with rangoli powder. This is the preferable method of practising such complicated patterns. An intermediate step for the rose flower muggulu with dots. We may not get the  designs according to our satisfaction if we draw directly without tracing the pattern but with practice we will get closer to perfection.  The next pic shows how the roses are drawn using the remaining dots .  The picture below shows the rose rangoli with dots without colours.   Rose kolam rangoli without colours  We can fill colours according to our imagination.  I have given an idea in the photo below for the rose kolam with 15 dots  Rose kolam with a 15 to 8 dot pattern is one of the most common rangoli  that is drawn quite frequently for special occasi

Lotus chukki rangoli new design kamala

Step by step images for the chukki rangoli for competition The next step - first draw the design in white  for the chukki rangoli design with colours  Also known as rangoli kamal ka phool  or kamal rangoli designs this big yet easy kolam can be added to your collection       Kamala rangoli design with 15 by 15 chukki - Step by step images for a kamala kolam.  This design is inspired by Maharastrian rangoli designs with dots.  They usually use a square dot grid.  The dot grid is 15 by 15 .  Start from the centre as shown in the first picture. Actually when we start a rangoli the dots will show up and ask to be connected.  After drawing the 4 lotus patterns on four sides using straight lines draw a petal at the base ( similar to how we open a kamala for decorating Goddess Lakshmi picture ) to make it appear more natural.  The remaining dots are completed with lotus buds and other patterns.  For this kolam , it is preferable to add colourful lines instead of filling up the entire design w

How to draw Ganpati rangoli with dots  - just 4 dots ! A small and easy rangoli Using a 4 by 1 dot grid we can create cute Ganesha rangoli the chukki type.  It is preferable to draw it in the Puja room and not at the entrance.  I have shown an intermediate step so that it will be easy to follow.   I have made some simple decorations.  You can try different patterns and colours too.              One more  simple rangoli design with 4 dots to 1 can also be drawn in the Puja Mandap.  This rangoli evolves from the onch design as seen from the images below.  We can decorate the rangoli further with few more patterns and colours .  The next Ganpati rangoli with chukki  The next pic for the Ganesha rangoli with chukki or dots  Simple and easy Ganpati rangoli for Ganesha Habba decoration and celebration Such small designs can be drawn without dots also for  this important festival but most of us are more comfortable with chukki rangolis .  So I have shared these two ideas .  Hope you like them

Chukki rangoli 21 to 11 for Sankranti

Image
First step for the chukki rangoli for Sankranthi competition This kolam may  represents the claws or pincers ( pedipalps says Google ) of a scorpion-like insect/animal - 6 of them in this rangoli.  Since the dot pattern is 21 to 11 it takes time to complete and fill with colours so we can try for festivals like Sankranthi or for  New Year.  They may also represent the claws of a tiger so it is also called puli nagam kolam in Tamil according to my elder sister who lives in Mumbai an expert in rangoli making.                       Intermediate steps through images are shown for this big chukki rangoli.   To state the obvious, draw the patterns in the centre and then proceed to the outer patterns or vice versa depending upon how you are comfortable with..  To complete it with colours, patience is required.  If the background is also to be filled we  will need 15 minutes extra.  The entire kolam design with colours and the background also in colour is below. This kolam is called Mandra ka

Demo of two different simple colouring ideas are also shown.  The second rangoli on cement floor.  3rd and 4th  rangoli on black floor A plain white version of a colourful design using paisleys .  The smaller patterns are like sting rays says may daughter .  The kolam below uses small and big lotus or thamarai designs  Next an idea for rangoli on steps  The tails of the peacocks are converted into a lotus ( above ).  The kolam below is beautiful but a bit tricky.   The picture shows a kolam  on floor idea  The rangoli above was created by me for Facebook.  Star is a commonly used base.  Draw this free hand kolam and decorate with kaavi for Friday. The next one is very simple and I think the image is self explanatory Easy kolam with dots  Two dot kolam ,  the picture above s
