Easy rangoli designs - beginners

Though I have drawn all the designs myself personally I am thankful to my family for the inputs, information and help in drafting all the posts so far.  I have used the terms kolam  rangoli quite freely in all the posts. Probably there would have been differences based on classical (!) explanations in the past but today kolams can also be colourful like rangolis both in the free hand and dots type  I find that even the terms rangoli kolam and kolam rangoli are used at  present. The only area where I think kolam are different are in sikku kolam and arisi maavu kolam. Both are beautiful, challenging and can be intricate . Kalash rangoli for Diwali 7 dots design

Drawing kalash is considered to be auspicious for any festival.  This rangoli design with dots is with 7 by 4 dots (interlaced dots). Two intermediate steps are shown so that it is easy to understand (for those who may need it). 


It can also be drawn for Navarathri and Varalakshmi Pooja.

Adding mango leaf patterns, lamp or coconut and Feet of Goddess Lakshmi make this rangoli suitable for Lakshmi Pooja, Friday kolam and Varalakshmi Vratham also.

For a long time and that is a few years I did not have a profile photo on my Google account that included Blogger and YouTube.  As I stated elsewhere, I am not comfortable when in limelight.  Incidentally my manager in YouTube also asked me "only your hand is visible, you do not have a profile picture, I suggest that you add your profile pic and upload videos where you are visible.  This will add to the authenticity of your channel since viewers want to know who they are talking too.  They are not comfortable with an anonymous person even though they may like your content" After much hesitation I shared a video where I was visible.  I also uploaded my profile picture.  One of the comments was "your kolam are as pretty as you".  I will take it as a compliment:)
