Easy rangoli designs - beginners

30+ rangoli kolam simple designs  Though I have drawn all the designs myself personally I am thankful to my family for the inputs, information and help in drafting all the posts so far.  I have used the terms kolam  rangoli quite freely in all the posts. Probably there would have been differences based on classical (!) explanations in the past but today kolams can also be colourful like rangolis both in the free hand and dots type  I find that even the terms rangoli kolam and kolam rangoli are used at  present. The only area where I think kolam are different are in sikku kolam and arisi maavu kolam. Both are beautiful, challenging and can be intricate. Rangoli is muggulu in Telugu and so this post will be useful for those in search of small and simple muggulu for beginners.  This post   may have answers  kutty rangoli /kolam designs The rangoli in the image below is one of the basic designs that can be used for learning.   Form a star w...

Margali kolam | Pongal kolangal | Sankranthi muggulu 2020 This is a unique type of chikku kolam .  Here we use a single line that goes around the dot grid and gets connected to where it started and hence the name.  Just by looking at a completed design it may be difficult to decipher the puzzle that it appears and probably one of the reasons why it is called so.  As is the norm in this blog, I have given few images to show the intermediate steps to make it easy to understand and learn.  I have used a 11 by 1 dot grid.  This kolam can be drawn with 9, 7 dots and bigger dot patterns also. Step by step pictures are shown to make easy to follow  For your weekday ( Monday to Thrusday ) or weekend kolam ideas Thin long lines should be drawn at a single stretch  It comes with practice  Try for Dhanuramasam rangoli for one of the 30 days  You may also use for sikku kolam with 11 dots or melikala muggulu with 11 dots for Bhogi a...

kolam with dots 9 to 1 for vasal

Peacock kolangal with dots  Among the birds peacocks are one of the most fascinating , naturally we try to incorporate these designs in our rangolis.  Since rangoli is a very simple daily art , what we draw will not have the intricate and finer details of other forms of art.   So what we do it draw the crown for the peacocks and decorate the tail.  This is a white rangoli and hence cane be thought of to represent the beautiful white peacock.  We can also fill the kolam with colours for festivals like Diwali, Pongal, Navartri or draw a white kolam for our daily vasal kolangal navilu rangoli , 9 chukki rangoli design step by step  Also a traditional mor rangoli with dots  At one or two places it can get tricky , so I have added many steps  I have shown only the white kolam , if you want to retain it as a white peacock , shading and decorations with motifs are sufficient. If you would like to display a proud peacock with colou...

Tuesday kolangal | Karthigai rangoli | Bhogi rangolis One of the commonly used and most favourite designs are the peacock rangoli for Diwali. It is a ubiquitous design.  We say as proud as a peacock, we are proud of a peacock rangoli we create for festivals including for Dhanteras rangoli attractive, I have used colour rangoli powder directly instead of drawing with white and filling with colours.  For this the quality of colour kola podi should be good.   I get it from Nagpur; there we get very good quality rangoli colours. if you want parrot kolam with dots for New Year  Such beautiful and intricate kolams can be drawn for Karthigai festival or vratham because mayil is considered as vahanam of Murugan. Dot pattern used is 9 to 1   We can also draw for Bhogi, Mattu Pongal and Kanum Pongal when medium sized rangoli designs are displayed.   If you are confident with the quality of colours you can draw directly with colours, it saves...

7 dots sikku kolam images

Sikku kolam poduvathu eppadi |  7 dots kambi kolam | 7 pulli kambi kolam  The beauty of this type of kolam is drawing the curved lines that move around the dots gracefully with neat lines and curved lines.   We should draw the entire kolam with confidence to get beautiful designs.  The secret is very simple.  It is just practice.  It must be cliche but that is the truth.   Practising many kolams will make us better and better in this art.  Practising the same kolam on a notebook with pen or pencil several times or with a chalk piece on floor will increase our confidence in drawing the design because they are extremely tricky most times.  The more confident we are with the design the more beautiful our lines will be.  The number of breaks in the lines should also be minimum  Dot pattern 7 dots 4 rows, 5 dots one row between and two extra dots What I have shown are the steps in the side view  Next step in the ...
