Easy rangoli designs - beginners

Though I have drawn all the designs myself personally I am thankful to my family for the inputs, information and help in drafting all the posts so far.  I have used the terms kolam  rangoli quite freely in all the posts. Probably there would have been differences based on classical (!) explanations in the past but today kolams can also be colourful like rangolis both in the free hand and dots type  I find that even the terms rangoli kolam and kolam rangoli are used at  present. The only area where I think kolam are different are in sikku kolam and arisi maavu kolam. Both are beautiful, challenging and can be intricate . Rangoli is muggulu in Telugu and so this post will be useful for those in search of small and simple muggulu for beginners.  This post   may have answers  kutty rangoli /kolam designs The rangoli in the image below is one of the basic designs that can be used for learning.   Form a star with two inverted triangles.   ...

New rangoli kolam designs easy beautiful

Refer to the previous post for a few latest rangoli designs. The next of designs are shared in this post.  Please

Continuing from the previous post, though I have lots of designs ready, my cameraman (my husband:)) should be available to shoot the videos.

He has been busy for a few weeks.  In fact, both of us were busy.

He is cross with me because he says photographers earn a lot from shooting videos and editing them, but I offer him only a cup of tea. It is just a joke.

Yes, editing is also done by him, and he has become quite good with experience.  He uses a high-end camera and software.

Occasionally we shoot videos directly from the mobile for shorts.  May be the algorithm likes it because it knows that the content is original.

However, we prefer DSLR for quality and for the ability to accommodate big design s and longer videos.

When we shoot directly from the mobile there are still some restrictions so far as the size of the design is concerned.

The popular maavilai or mango leaf design with 7 by 4 dots.

The pattern above is quite common.  I have shared this design with 5 and 9 dots also. The decorations inside and outside have enhanced the appearance of what is otherwise a simple rangoli

The third rangoli is also quite simple, the shading and dots adding to the beauty. We can create hundreds of designs with lines intersecting each other. the number of lines can be two, four or six.  The more the lines the more complicated it becomes.

The second kolam is tricky because we have to draw the circular patterns among the dots.  Getting near perfect circles is an art by itself.

The first design can be a little tricky.  So, another photo showing how to start has been added.
