An update for Varalakshmi Pooja 2023, a simple geethala muggu I created has been added We celebrate Navratri for nine days or rather nine nights, hence the name Navratri. Starting with the first day apart from various decorations we do for the kolu with craft and art, tradition has it that we draw a new kolam for the kolu every day. Till Dasara or Dusshera or Vijayadasami the celebrations are on. My mother taught us that Navratri golu (or kolu ) is to be given the importance we give for Pooja room. So, the place before the golu is cleaned every day and new kolam is drawn for decoration every day. Invariably a small padi kolam is drawn because the kolu itself occupies lot of space. New rangoli for Diwali latest designs

Diwali special rangoli with innovative rangoli making techniques Getting perfect symmetry and geometry in traditional methods of making rangoli is not easy for beginners so we can try the use of aids - with whatever is available in the house particularly the kitchen (!) to draw beautiful rangoli designs. Here I have drawn the circular rangoli at the centre with a plastic plate . After filling with white using the chakli template I placed star like patterns inside the white circle Then place some dots of the same colour also inside the circle. Using another chakli template place patterns filled with dots as shown in one of the images. Along the circumference place orange and blue bullets and press them gently with the index finger. Navratri is one of the most important festivals celebrated for nine days , the tenth day being celebrated as Vijayadasami or Dusshera. Different states of India celebrate it in different ways.
