Easy rangoli designs - beginners

30+ rangoli kolam simple designs  Though I have drawn all the designs myself personally I am thankful to my family for the inputs, information and help in drafting all the posts so far.  I have used the terms kolam  rangoli quite freely in all the posts. Probably there would have been differences based on classical (!) explanations in the past but today kolams can also be colourful like rangolis both in the free hand and dots type  I find that even the terms rangoli kolam and kolam rangoli are used at  present. The only area where I think kolam are different are in sikku kolam and arisi maavu kolam. Both are beautiful, challenging and can be intricate. Peacock muggulu without dots  This is a free hand rangoli.  Once we are able to draw the peacock design, free hand rest is kid's play. First draw the paisley pattern.  Then draw the head, neck and then the body and tail of the peacock.  If we do not get it right the first time, not to worry, we can try a few times till we get it right Try this without chukki peacock rangoli for Bhogi too or as your Diwali rangoli more wali or Dhanteras rangoli  Decorate inside the paisley with pattern made with different colours.  This pictures above should give visual information if we have doubts.  Then fill the peacock with different shades of blue.  Here our imagination can decide what we want.  I have filled the top half with one shade of blue and the bottom half with another shade of blue.  We should fill carefully so that the colours do not spill.   21 dots big kolam for Pongal kolam designs with dots | Sankranti rangoli designs with dots After placing the 21 by 11 dot idukku pulli or udu pulli dot grid.  Identify the six places where the pattern as shown in the first two images is to be drawn. Pulli kolam designs

30 plus chukki rangoli images with steps Some pulli kolam designs I designed for Rangoli-sans-dots.  I will upload as and when it is practically possible.   Draw the central pattern and expand outward to get the wings  Draw the head and crown and beak of the bird.   The remaining dots at the centre are filled up with patterns as shown in the image.    You can also decide your own pattern   The kolam  is of 9 dot to 1 dot pattern kolam with four "colourful" birds.  A simple design.   Place the 9 to 1 dot template.  T h ere is some influence of free hand design in the birds and hence the combination of dots and   free hand rangoli results in the image shown above.   Some colourful lines have been added to parallel to the basic white design to get a beautiful and attractive rangoli.  This rangoli may not appear to be simple, hence the photo above showing how to draw the basic patterns at the centre and ar...
