Easy rangoli designs - beginners

Though I have drawn all the designs myself personally I am thankful to my family for the inputs, information and help in drafting all the posts so far.  I have used the terms kolam  rangoli quite freely in all the posts. Probably there would have been differences based on classical (!) explanations in the past but today kolams can also be colourful like rangolis both in the free hand and dots type  I find that even the terms rangoli kolam and kolam rangoli are used at  present. The only area where I think kolam are different are in sikku kolam and arisi maavu kolam. Both are beautiful, challenging and can be intricate . Rangoli is muggulu in Telugu and so this post will be useful for those in search of small and simple muggulu for beginners.  This post   may have answers  kutty rangoli /kolam designs The rangoli in the image below is one of the basic designs that can be used for learning.   Form a star with two inverted triangles.   ...

12 dots kolam colors pulli

This kolam uses a dot grid -  2 rows of 12 dots and then 10,8,6,4,2 on either side.  The dots are connected using straight lines.

The final image appears simple but we can get confused.  So I have few pictures to guide us from the beginning of the kolam

through various steps to make it somewhat easy to learn , practice and draw.  There a maze of lines connecting the dots.

I have add few colourful dots from bullets to make is suitable for the festival of colours Diwali also.  if we want a different rangoli with dots for Diwali

Aishwarya kolam I drew for my YouTube channel was the official video for the platform for many weeks.  I do not know whether Google still follows this concept.  I realised why when a lady commented on the video "I have seen many Aishwarya rangoli steps but what you have shared in the easiest".  There can be many combinations of steps for drawing dot rangoli designs.  I too try many methods and share the method I feel is the easiest.  May be that resonates with the viewers too.  In the rangoli above too, I have tried few methods and shared what I feel is the simplest.  What do you think?
