Chukki rangoli 7 to 4 hibiscus flower
How to draw chukki rangoli designs with colours. I hope you agree that it is beautiful . A complete flower with petals sepals and stamen !.
Six such flowers to get an awesome kolam.
For those who are visiting this website for the first time I get my rangoli colours from a place called Koradi (there is is famous Goddess Lakshmi temple) near Nagpur.
One of my elder sisters lives in Nagpur. She sends all colours by courier. One consignment lasts for a year even for me because I use a lot for demonstration through videos on social media.
Hibiscus is one of my most favourite flowers after rose and lotus for creating simple rangoli designs.
This 7 to 4 kolam can be drawn for daily purpose or if you are looking for a small rangoli for festivals like Sankranti or Ugadi you can try it also.
An important rangoli tip - try to draw most or all lines at a single stretch. It will make the design more attractive when there are no joints. It should be possible for an easy rangoli like the one shown in the pictures above.
One of the first kolam I created for this website. Actually, I drew free hand designs on the kitchen counter while cooking. This rangoli was also drawn without dots. Later I started creating dot rangoli designs also for benefit of and based on requests of readers who are were not comfortable with "without chukki rangoli" yet.
This was the time when I told my husband I wanted to have a "career" of my own since the children became independent. As always, I drew this free hand i.e without using a dot pattern. After observing this and other designs my husband encouraged me to try posting in a blog. He extended all assistance. We started with a simple camera since we were sceptical about the reception. This is the reason for the quality of some of older images in the blog.
We were both nearing 50 and cannot be considered tech savvy by any stretch of imagination. Credit goes to Balaji for learning the tricks of the trade as quickly as possible with a few mistakes and blunders along the way. He learnt from the internet only.
So far as the videos are concerned the background, black granite slab posed problems for shooting videos due to problems with lighting. We attended a technical session conducted by YouTube. During tea break we discussed with the expert over a cup of tea. He understood our problem and gave us tips to help us overcome these issues. We are greatly indebted to him since his advice solved our problems in shooting videos and lighting.
