Easy rangoli designs - beginners

30+ rangoli kolam simple designs  Though I have drawn all the designs myself personally I am thankful to my family for the inputs, information and help in drafting all the posts so far.  I have used the terms kolam  rangoli quite freely in all the posts. Probably there would have been differences based on classical (!) explanations in the past but today kolams can also be colourful like rangolis both in the free hand and dots type  I find that even the terms rangoli kolam and kolam rangoli are used at  present. The only area where I think kolam are different are in sikku kolam and arisi maavu kolam. Both are beautiful, challenging and can be intricate. Rangoli without dots with colours

 Rangoli sans dots as the name suggests is all about rangoli without dots.  Some of the designs created by me few years back are shared here.   Free hand designs test our imagination.

While white kolam can be drawn for daily purpose rangoli, we can draw the colourful ones for festivals like New Year.

If you are looking for simple rangoli designs without colours for beginners that are new to these rangolis 

may be the ones you are looking for.  Obviously most. kolam drawn by me are new particularly without chukki type 

because they are all created by me. Some of them spontaneously others are recorded in many notebooks.  " Every time you come up with something new and different " 

This is sample feedback from one of my social media accounts.  The reason is I spend my afternoons practising, creating.

Addition of colours have been shown in the images below.  The background has not been filled.  If time permits choose a suitable background.

Two kolam without dots, with colours. I like the green, pink and blue combination used in the image above.  Filling up with colours is done spontaneously (invariably).  

However, with years of experience our minds are already programmed to find the best matching colours.

 Let me hasten to add that matching colours depends upon individual preferences because very rarely I have received feedback that the colour combination used is not satisfactory. 

 As the saying goes - there are three sides to an argument, your side, my side and the correct side.  Constructive criticism is always welcome.

Quite a few of my followers live abroad (I reside in Chennai, India).  I am pleasantly surprised when I receive messages from ladies who would like to meet me.  Obviously, it would give me a lot of joy to meet my followers.  I never thought on those lines.  I usually maintain a low profile. 

 My social media presence is limited to sharing rangoli images and videos.  I do not make or share live videos interacting with viewers. Actually, once in a program conducted by YouTube that I attended, they wanted to interview me for their Twitter Page, I was not very comfortable and so I avoided.

YouTube was popular with youngsters 10 years back.  I was probably one of the very few among the creators who was not a youngster (!) by any stretch of imagination. 

This collection of rangoli without dots small can be used for simple Diwali decoration ideas too.

Continuing our discussion on the present topic, the two images above are demo images drawn for uploading on the rangoli blog.  In the pic below a simple kolam without dots for beginners with very little colours drawn at the entrance on cement floor.
