This is a combination of two beautiful art forms
The white mehndi rangoli design is a totally different type of design and it does no conform to geometry or anything in nature.
I have tried some simple free hand patterns to which to spiral designs are attached outside and one inside.
The entire portion inside and on the spiral lines have some patterns on them that have been drawn spontaneously according to my imagination.
Hope it has come out well. Mehndi designs are drawn with mehandi cone that is available in the market.
I wanted to try with kolam powder few without chukki rangoli designs in white.
To draw these designs apart from the quality of rangoli powder, dexterity and control are important factors
1) Henna mehndi rangoli designs
The mehendi function before marriage is usually celebrated in northern part of India. Nowadays it has become popular in southern India also. For my son's wedding we had the mehandi function at our home. We invited close relatives and a few distant relatives living in the city. We had booked three mehendi professionals. The charges depend upon the length and intricacy of designs. They show photos of designs. All of them are so attractive that it is difficult to choose. I had arranged dinner also.
Applying the designs started in the evening and went up to 10 pm.
My nephew's wedding was celebrated in Bengaluru. They arranged in a separate venue with lunch and sangeet too. As Bharathiyar said "go to all eight directions and bring the best of culture to our place" (excuse me for the transliteration).
Mehandi and sangeet are now part of wedding celebrations in southern parts of our country too. Nowadays chenda melam from Kerala is also an added attraction in marriages in Tamil Nadu. What else can be added to our traditional marriages. Your opinion please :)
