Easy rangoli designs - beginners

Though I have drawn all the designs myself personally I am thankful to my family for the inputs, information and help in drafting all the posts so far.  I have used the terms kolam  rangoli quite freely in all the posts. Probably there would have been differences based on classical (!) explanations in the past but today kolams can also be colourful like rangolis both in the free hand and dots type  I find that even the terms rangoli kolam and kolam rangoli are used at  present. The only area where I think kolam are different are in sikku kolam and arisi maavu kolam. Both are beautiful, challenging and can be intricate . Chukki rangoli 5 to 5

The images below show how we can create a simple rangoli with just 5 dots.  The more the decorations we add the more beautiful the rangoli looks. One more design for drawing at the entrance. We should make it a habit of drawing rangoli daily at the entrance ,many of us may be doing it already.'

I have shared a step by step procedure for what may be considered to be peacocks.  That is the beauty of this art .  Through simple ideas we can represent an awesomely colourful bird like peacock in rangoli art.  So all of us who draw kolam daily are artists !
