Shanku chakra namam rangoli kolam

Image
An auspicious  Pooja room kolam and hence not drawn at the entrance.  As in the case of many posts I have shown  the white kolam only.  It is preferable to decorate with kavi ( ochre ) colour.  Kavi is usually used for auspicious occasions. This kolam can be drawn for our Wednesday kolangal or Saturday kolam as these two days are important for Lord Vishnu We can also draw for Vaikunta Ekadasi festival, Purattasi month (the whole month is considered important for Lord Venkateswara) I have also added Goddess Lakshmi's Feet for this rangoli.  In traditional rangoli we represent Her through Feet patterns. The main rangoli represents the Lord through shanka and chakra designs with the Namam pattern at the centre. 🙏🙏 I receive few suggestions on social media - like lines should be drawn from top to bottom, patterns should be drawn clockwise and not counterclockwise Though I appreciate their views, I think that we must first encourage drawing kolam daily a...

Lotus kolam with dots for Friday Puja

Image
After extending sixteen lines ,  place five dots above each line as shown in the images.  Follow the pics to learn the step by step procedure to draw the kolam.  Some call it the Vishnu Hrudaya rangoli just like the Lakshmi Hrudaya rangoli we usually draw.  It is preferable to draw it in the Puja room and for festivals like Varalakshmi Pooje , Diwali . As usual decorate with a  kaavi border.  We can make few decorations with kaavi inside the lotus too. Since the steps are repeated , it is quite easy to draw only thing is we should not lose our focus or else we may miss the dots.  For Lakshmi Pujan rangoli also , a traditional kolam. A unique kamal rangoli design. thamarai kolam for Friday  Sukruvara kamalada rangoli  Sukruvaram muggulu with dots step by step  Velli Kizhamai kolam through many pics  chukki rangoli , lotus design for Dasara One of the V aramahalakshmi Habba rangoli galu  Beautiful chukki rangoli for Varamahalaks...

Image
Golu alankaram or decoration with kolam for Navratri till Dasara or as a Pooja room rangoli These rangoli or kolam are for pooja mantaps or pooja enclosures. The design can be drawn with borders    Modifications to suit individual family customs may be done.   Most of them are simple, free hand, padi kolams or rangoli with dots. .  This belief helps me develop positive thoughts when I draw them and hence I use them invariably in Puja rooms.  Aishwarya kolam, kubera kolam, Hridaya kamala kolam are part of this group of auspicious rangolis. Pooja rooms or enclosures or mantap require simple and/or auspicious rangolis.  There are some rangoli that are there for a long time (decades or centuries, I do not know) which are specifically meant for Pooja rooms, Tulsi plant (called Tulsi maadam) and  Fridays . The following are some of the rangolis that belong to this category While there are many options in Rangolisansdots for kolam I would like to share ...
